Become an Assembler! We are looking for a Billing Specialist to join our Physician RCM Services division. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Billing.

 

What you'll do

·       Identify, investigate, and resolve unpaid claims across multiple specialties.

·       Track unpaid claims, denial management, and file when needed for reimbursement.

·       Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness. Obtain any missing information.

·       Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic paper claim processing.

·       Conduct timely follow ups on unpaid claims.

·       Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount. Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments as needed.

·       Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances and review accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.

·       Conduct thorough research and appeal denied claims

·       Payment posting and data entry as needed and required.

·       Update billing software with rate changes, cash spreadsheets, and run collection reports

·       Effectively and professionally answer and return calls, email, and mail communication both internally and externally.

·       Other tasks as needed.

What we're looking for

·       One plus years of experience in medical billing.

·       Experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or related field preferred.

·       Exceptional knowledge of common systems and applications. Preferably AdvancedMD, Athena, or Open Practice Solutions.

·       Communicate and collaborate with Billers, insurance companies, patients, and leadership on a consistent basis.

·       Manage critical deadlines and keen attention to detail.

·       Escalate any discrepancies to management.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Must be resourceful, persistent and possess excellent problem resolution skills.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office

·       Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

·       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds at times.
